Background
Dean Yuan is currently studying for a PhD in Aerospace. He graduated with a BSE in Aerospace Engineering from University of Michigan.
Current activities
Dean is carrying out his PhD research at Cranfield's Centre for Computational Engineering and Sciences, with the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing. His project is centered around PnPm methods, also known as reconstructed DG methods, which utilizes reconstruction as part of a DG method. This work hopes to combine the robustness of FV methods with the high order accuracy of DG methods while avoiding the large increases in computational cost and memory requirements typically associated with increasing the order of accuracy of a DG method. The schemes and governing equations will be implemented into the existing open-source computational framework, UCNS3D.
