Rwandan daily consumption of peanut flour is estimated to be 21.43 g/person/day with a risk of exposure to aflatoxin put at 0-627.14 ng/kgbw/day. Rwanda women's plasma was reported to contain 鈥�1-2 orders of magnitude above the current guidance based on elevated risk of liver cancer of the FAO/WHO Joint Expert Committee on Food Additives鈥�.

The project aims to acquire benchmark data on the agronomy and aflatoxin prevalence in Rwanda, towards the development of intervention strategies for aflatoxins exposure and hepatitis vaccination in Rwanda.
