Background
Dr Irene Zografou is a lecturer in the Changing World of Work Group at Cranfield School of Management. She holds a PhD in Human Resource Management (HRM), specialising on employer branding, from the Department of Marketing and Communication at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). She has also obtained an international MBA in Business Administration from the AUEB and an MSc in Tourism Management from the University of the Aegean.
Irene has worked as both a doctoral and postdoctoral researcher on funded research projects in the Department of Marketing and Communication at the AUEB, as well as an adjunct lecturer in the Executive MBA at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Beyond academia, she has held several roles in corporate training, project management, and customer service across Europe and the Middle East. She has been awarded for her professionalism and overall work performance by the Emirates Group in Dubai, where she previously worked.

Her research interests encompass strategic HRM, employer branding, organizational performance, and innovation.
Current activities
Irene teaches Management, People Management, and Leadership at Cranfield's MBAs, MScs, and executive education programs.
She has published in academic journals, including Employee Relations, Euromed Journal of Business, and Frontiers in Psychology. She has also served as an assistant editor and co-author of three chapters in the book titled HRM, Business Performance, and Innovation in SMEs. She has reviewed for various academic journals, including Employee Relations, for which she received the Outstanding Reviewer Emerald Award for 2024, as well as the Baltic Journal of Management and Tourism Review.
She has served as a reviewer for international conferences such as the European Academy of Management (EURAM), the Global Conference on International Human Resource Management (GCIHRM), and the Academy of Management. Her contributions to the research community also include her role as communication officer for the EURAM conference.
Irene is in the final months of her postdoctoral research at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) focusing on employer branding and innovation in SMEs.
