Background
Originally an agronomist living and working in Africa, John entered the corporate world with the worlds leading agribusiness. He transitioned from being a technician to commercial management, a move that saw him live and run subsidiaries in India, Korea, Hong Kong and Malaysia. He moved to Australia and ran a fertilizer business converting the waste from a sugar mill and bioethanol plant into a valuable and sustainable input for the farmers who grew the sugarcane in the first place. Along the way, John established and sold a successful fabric cleaning service business and fuelled his passion for entrepreneurship.
Current activities
John’s principal passion is for owner managed businesses and he is a Counsellor on the BGP and consults for businesses in the areas of strategy, marketing and organizational development. Recognising that the majority of SME’s are denied their funding applications with the big banks, John is an associate with Primary Business Finance, whose primary purpose is to help and support SME’s secure the type of finance that provides a sustainable solution and security for their business. With his international background, John also undertakes assignments with international businesses, large and small, seeking to expand their commercial footprint.
