Four leading European business schools have again joined forces to host the second virtual , giving practical tips to help women navigate their careers into leadership positions. Cranfield School of Management (UK), ESMT Berlin (Germany), Imperial College Business School (UK), and Rotterdam School of Management (Netherlands) will be uniting for their next event on 16 February 2023.
Following last year’s successful event ‘Empower your success’ the 2023 event will focus discussions on the topic of how women can achieve their next career steps, focusing on the most important questions regarding career progression: How do you find the right role models for your career? What steps do you need to take to advance your own career? How can your own network help you get support?
This year’s speakers include:
- Professor Sue Vinnicombe CBE, Professor of Women and Leadership at Cranfield School of Management, and founder of the annual Female FTSE Board Report
- Dr Deirdre Anderson, Director of the Gender, Leadership, and Inclusion Centre, Cranfield School of Management
- Hetty Brand-Boswijk, Director of Coaching, Rotterdam School of Management
- Professor Gianluca Carnabuci, Professor of Organisational Behavior, Director of Research, and the Ingrid and Manfred Gentz Chair in Business and Society, ESMT Berlin
- Dorothy Grandia, Associate Director of Programming at Erasmus Center for Women & Organizations, Rotterdam School of Management
- Lisa Umenyiora, Executive Director of Careers and Student Life, Imperial College Business
The speakers will provide insights into how networks can be used as a valuable tool for one’s own career and why different tactics work better for women than for men. The second major topic will cover how to balance the tightrope between being respected and being liked, including how to achieve the best results personally and for the organisation. The third session will provide participants with practical steps to bring their careers to the next level.
The final keynote (hosted by Cranfield School of Management) will focus on the importance of having the right role models and how to choose them. Cranfield’s speakers will additionally be joined by Cranfield alumni Dr Omobola Johnson (DBA 2013) and Krishnanjani Velivela (MBA 2019), who will be sharing their own unique experiences of role models and their insight into real-world challenges.
