Rosina Borrelli
PhD Student: Systems Thinking for Sustainability
While finishing her PhD at ˾, Rosina is also Joint Strategic Lead for Mapping Secondary School Food Education at The School of Artisan Food and Interdisciplinary Food Systems Teaching and Learning (IFSTAL): Workplace & Community Engagement Lead at the University of Oxford. Her career in food education and sustainability is rooted in her desire to see a systemic transformation of food as we know it.
Professor Paul Burgess
Professor of Sustainable Agriculture and Agroforestry
Paul is an expert in Agrifood Systems, Energy and the Environment, Natural Capital, Soil, and Sustainable Land Systems. He has undertaken research and consultancy globally, focusing on agroforestry, bio-economic models, and sustainable agriculture. Paul has led numerous projects, contributed to policy development, authored numerous papers and books. His current research focusses on focuses on the improvement of regenerative agricultural systems including agroforestry, tree crops, conservation tillage, and grassland management.
Customer Success Manager, Trinity Agtech
Trinity Agtech’s software system allows farmers and land managers to accurately measure and manage their carbon footprint, biodiversity and nitrate leaching, then model future management scenarios. Oliver’s role involves working with some of the country’s most progressive food and farming businesses to help them reduce their environmental impact. Prior to this, he was the County Farming Adviser for the National Farmers Union in Bedfordshire as well as an agri-food sustainability consultant, researcher and several other roles within the food and farming sector. Oliver has a postgraduate degree in Sustainable Agriculture from Harper Adams and recently launched a sustainability focussed muesli brand, that allows consumers to directly support organic and regenerative producers.

The Sustainability Network Speaker Series is the platform for our network of Cranfield students, faculty, staff, and alumni, our partners in industry and sustainability enthusiasts to hear from thought leaders across all sectors. The series is a chance to delve into a sustainability-related hot topic and explore the challenges and opportunities in embedding sustainability in various areas of industry. We typically host panels and lectures with a mix of thought leaders, sustainability and industry professionals, government, NGOs and academe to seed this discussion. Every session has an opportunity for you to ask questions and get involved in the discussion, as well as a chance to connect with other like-minded people.
